SUNOHOO HC Series Energy Storage Inverters

Shorter days, changing sunlight and uneven rooftop exposure can limit the energy available to a home solar system. The SUNOHOO HC Series combines low-voltage start-up, dual independent MPPTs and flexible PV sizing with simultaneous charging and load supply to help homeowners make better use of available solar energy.

90V start-up voltage

With a start-up voltage of 90V, the HC Series can begin operating once the PV array meets the required start-up conditions. This supports solar harvesting during lower-light periods, including mornings and late afternoons. Actual start-up time and energy yield depend on irradiance, array design and operating conditions.

Dual independent MPPTs

Two independent maximum power point trackers manage the connected PV arrays separately. This provides flexibility for roofs with different orientations or uneven sunlight and helps reduce mismatch effects between arrays connected to separate trackers.

Up to 200% PV oversizing

Compatible HC Series configurations support PV array capacity up to twice the inverter’s rated output, within the specified input limits. A properly sized array can improve energy harvesting when irradiance is low. The 200% figure describes the PV-to-inverter capacity ratio; it does not mean twice the energy yield or twice the AC output.

Simultaneous battery charging and load supply

The HC Series can supply household loads while charging the battery when sufficient PV power is available and battery and system limits permit. This supports daytime energy use alongside storage for later. Available charging and output power depend on the selected model, battery capability and operating conditions.

Wide PV operating voltage range

The stated 90–525V PV operating range offers flexibility for system configuration. String design must also meet the selected model’s MPPT range, maximum input voltage and current limits. Installers should verify these values against the product datasheet and PV module specifications.

AFCI and electrical protection

Arc-fault protection, PV reverse-polarity protection, and overvoltage and overcurrent protection help detect abnormal conditions and reduce associated electrical risks. These features complement correct installation, inspection and maintenance.
